Valve Flow Coefficient (Cv) refers to the flow rate in US gallons per minute (US gal/min) of water at 15.6°C (60°F) with a pressure drop of 1 psi. The corresponding equations can also be applied when using gases instead of liquids. This calculation tool enables a quick measure of a valve's flow capacity across different working conditions. It supports calculations for both liquid and gas flows– by inputting fluid parameters, pressure, and temperature data, the tool automatically calculate either Cv or flow rate.

All pressure parameters use absolute pressure units, except for PSIG which adopts gauge pressure relative to atmospheric pressure.

Note: This tool provides theoretical calculation references only. Actual engineering applications require professional validation based on specific working conditions. It is the responsibility of the system designer and user to consider all aspects of the application — including product function, material compatibility, adequate safety factors, correct installation, operation, and maintenance.
